Did Serena Williams Say To Lineswoman, “I would kill you” :Working out exactly what Serena Williams did say is a little difficult for of course as soon as it started to appear on TV screens it was bleeped. So in trying to work out just what Serena Williams did say after her foot fault we need to add in a little bit from what other news sources are telling us.

Here’s one version of what Serena said:

Looking at a tape of the incident, including one broadcast on ESPN, it appeared Williams said, “I swear to God [bleep], I’m taking this ball and I’m shoving it your bleep.

Another interpretation of what Serena Williams said after her foot fault is:
“If I could, I would take . . . this ball and . . . shove it down your throat.”

There’s a certain difference there, don’t you think? Throat is not normally one of those words which is bleeped, so perhaps she was referring to some other orifice? Or maybe she modified the word throat by adding a bleeped to it?

The essential background is that Serena Williams had been cautioned for unsportsmanlike conduct earlier in the match (they might call it something else but this is what they mean). She had broken her racket deliberately on losing the first set.

Then, just coming up to match point at the end of the second set (or rather, a potential match point for Kim Clijsters, she double faulted. That set up the match point for Clijsters. However, Serena WilliamsWilliams then turned to the lineswoman who had called that double fault and let rip. Thus the penalty point was called against and as it was match point, she lost the match.

As you can see in this video of Serena William’s foot fault, it was indeed a foot fault and it was indeed the right call.

Serena Williams Foot Fault VS. Kim Clijsters: Last night’s semi final match between Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters ended in bizarre fashion, as Williams received a point penalty for abusing an official. The question people are asking now though, is: What did Serena say to the official?

As reported from Newsday, Clijsters was just two points from victory, when Serena was called for a foot fault on a second serve, giving Clijsters match point in the process.

Williams then proceeded to the line judge to argue the claim, where she was thought to have yelled obscenities too, which then led to a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct.

This meant automatic loss of point, and the match then went to Clijsters 6-4, 7-5. It ended up being a very controversial taking point, to what was a highly entertaining match.
