Patrick Swayze Dies And Jennifer Grey Lead Tributes
Patrick Swayze Dies And Jennifer Grey Lead Tributes:Swayze in the 1991 hit film ‘Ghost,’ tells us: “Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can’t ever repay. I believe in ‘Ghost’s’ message, so he’ll always be near.”
Actress Jennifer Grey, who appeared alongside Patrick Swayze in his star-making turn in ‘Dirty Dancing,’ also released a statement to “The Insider”: “Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified. When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family.”
California Governor and former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger released this statement to “The Insider”:
“Patrick Swayze was a talented and passionate artist who struck a memorable chord with audiences throughout the world. He played a wide range of characters both on stage and in movies and his celebrated performances made the hard work of acting look effortless — which I know from experience is not easy. As a fan and as an actor, I admired Patrick and I know that he will be dearly missed. On behalf of all Californians, Maria and I send our deepest condolences to Patrick’s family, friends and fans.”
C. Thomas Howell, who shared the screen with Swayze in ‘The Outsiders,’ ‘Red Dawn’ and ‘Grandview, U.S.A.,’ shared his thoughts about the sad news, saying: “I have always had a special place in my heart for Patrick. While I was fortunate enough to work with him in three films, it was our passion for horses that forged a friendship between us that I treasure to this day. Not only did we lose a fine actor today, I lost my older ‘Outsiders’ brother. My heart goes out to not only his entire family, but all his fans as well.”
A&E, the network which aired Swayze‘s final television show “The Beast,” said in a statement to “The Insider”: “We are saddened by the loss of one of our generation’s greatest talents and a member of the A&E family. Patrick‘s work on’The Beast’ was an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his wife Lisa and his entire family during this difficult time.” Open Video Click This Link.

Patrick Swayze Succumbs To Pancreatic Cancer
Patrick Swayze succumbs to pancreatic cancer :Barbara Walters will air the actor’s final television interview in a one hour special titled Last Dance tonight at 10 PM eastern/9 PM central on ABC.
He’s probably best known for his work on the big screen in movies like Ghost, Dirty Dancing and (of course) the timeless Road House, a movie that became a cult sensation for all the wrong reasons and helped birth the sense of humor of MST3K and Rifftrax’s Michael J. Nelson. But like all Hollywood actors, he made his presence known on the small screen, and his reach goes much further than his recent venture into cable drama glory with A&E’s The Beast.
Like most actors of the 80s, he got his big start on MASH playing, oddly enough, on an episode called “Blood Brothers” in which he plays a private who discovers he has leukemia when he tries to donate blood to another wounded soldier. I couldn’t find a clip in any of the Internet’s series of tubes, but it does stick in my mind as a heartfelt and genuine performance. It’s also another sad reminder of Larry Gelbart’s recent passing.
More recently, he took a chance on a big budget cable series with the aforementioned Beast. I never saw an episode and, apparently, not a lot of other people did either since it didn’t score a second season. The reviews weren’t always kind, but it was nice to see the man get back on his feet after receiving his diagnosis only a year prior to the start of the show.
Of course, in terms of television, he’ll probably be best remembered for being the absolute perfect straight man to the pudgy Chris Farley in the notorious Saturday Night Live “Chippendales” sketch. I’ll let the sketch speak for itself because words can’t do it justice, and I really don’t want to delve that deep into my mind to find the words to describe Swayze’s performance. Let’s just say I hope to have children some day.
