Erin Andrews And Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Erin Andrews And Maksim Chmerkovskiy:Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough defy gravity on “Dancing with the Stars.” The duo are vying for the ABC show’s top spot with Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
I don’t want to spoil the ending of “Dancing With the Stars” for you guys but…this whole season took place in an alternate universe where all the finalists were ringers who had years of professional dance experience. And they all die in the end.
Just kidding! Well, half kidding (don’t forget, Erin Andrews was in that “Darrin’s Dance Grooves” tutorial VHS!).
Monday night was the first part of the “Dancing With the Stars” finale, and the remaining three celebs took to the floor for two performances: A redemption dance and the dreaded freestyle.
They will all dance an additional two routines Tuesday night for another round of judges’ scores, to be added to last night’s scores and America’s votes. That’s four complete performances in total, the most any of the couples have had to learn in one week on the series ever.
Whether it was the intensive workload or the pressure of the home stretch, the reigning leader stumbled while an underdog surged from behind, making it a race to the finish too close to call. Here’s how it all went down…
Erin Andrews and Maksim Chermasaywhasky:
For her redemption dance, judge Bruno Tonioli assigned Erin the samba. Their routine began with a bit about Maksim taking off his shirt, but he ultimately remained clothed. The routine included a lot of shimmy shimmy, shakey shakey and some beloved hairography (“It’s like cool epilepsy”). Judge Len Goodman said the improvement from Erin’s last samba was “fantastic.” Bruno called the routine hotter than the tropics or something. And Carrie Ann Inaba said Erin moved up three notches. I’m assuming that’s on the Good Jiggly Parts Scale. Scores, in Carrie Ann, Len, Bruno order (now and forever), 10, 10, 9. Total: 29.
For their freestyle routine, Maks called in everybody’s (second) favorite “So You Think You Can Dance” contemporary choreography, Mandy Moore! The performance involved a lot of longing embraces and rolling around on a prop bed. It reminded me of that part in Cooper’s ballet in “Center Stage.” I’m pretty sure every lady who’s ever had a fantasy about Maksim was sitting at home, watching this routine, and sweating. Len didn’t love it, though. He probably doesn’t fantasize about Maks a lot. Bruno was glad they put their heart and soul into it. Carrie Ann loved that they went with something more lyrical. Scores, 9, 8, 9. Total: 26.
Evan Lysacek and Anna:
Len assigned them the Viennese waltz, hoping that Evan would finally nail the chemistry. I know one of the judges mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but I’m going to reiterate that, if there’s one thing that I do appreciate about Evan — excluding his incredible head of hair — is the fact that he does indeed lead his partner, which doesn’t happen a lot of this show. Usually, the male celebrities just get pushed around the stage by their female counterparts. Evan, on the other hand, is actually confident enough to take control. And I like it. Plus, he has very graceful hands. Bruno was glad to see Evan smiling, “romantic” and “sweet.” Carrie Ann thought it was like a “beautiful, emotional, enchanting dream.” Len thought Evan did a wonderful job. Scores, 10, 9, 9. Total: 28.

Erin Andrews Peeping Tom Video
Erin Andrews Peeping Tom Video:ESPN commentator Erin Andrews tells Oprah Winfrey that one of the hardest moments of a traumatic summer – during which she was videotaped nude in her hotel room by a peeping tom who posted the footage to the Internet – was having to tell her parents what had happened.
“I mean, having to call my parents and they – they thought I was physically injured how bad I was screaming,” she tells the talk show host on a segment that will air Friday afternoon, as a lead-up to Oprah’s season premiere on Monday Sept. 14.
In the immediate aftermath, Andrews thought her career would never recover from the humiliating episode.
On the phone with her father, “I kept screaming, I’m done. My career is over. I’m done. Get it off. Get it off the Internet. Get it off.”
After the footage was posted to the Web in mid-July the incident became a huge news story, especially where it started – on the Internet. Andrews said the decision by some media outlets to air portions of the video or publish stills made her feel like a victim all over again.
It’s horrifying,” she told Oprah. “It was reliving it. Like I said, I understand you have a story to cover. But it’s almost like you’re – you’re glorifying it. ‘Hey, check out this video. Check out these pictures.’ There was no need to show those. I’m a crime victim.”
And while she has returned to ESPN to cover college football from the sidelines, she says she may never feel the same about her stints on the road, staying in hotels. It was during travel for work that someone apparently drilled a hole in the wall of her hotel room, creating a peep hole through which the offending video was shot.
“I think it will always make me feel nervous. But I also feel it’s my duty to come out and show this person, you know what? I worked hard for my career and I – I got there the right way and you’re not gonna break me down.
