O’Toole is not one of my favorite actors – I usually find their actions, well, an actor – but he is one of the most beloved actors of many people. O’Toole fans, it’s time to rejoice.

Lord Jim, in fact, has much in common with Lawrence of Arabia “which many consider one of the greatest films ever. In my opinion, it’s just one of the biggest (not including Bollywood musicals, of course). But the prospects of the desert is really beautiful (Cinematography Freddie Young), Alec Guinness, Claude Rains perfect in supporting roles, and the poor rape Lawrence and its implications unintentionally hilarious.

Thin David Lean from brief encounter, this happy breed, Blithe Spirit, Passionate Friends, and Hobson’s choice was long gone then.

I think Peter Glenville high drama Becket – gay love story if ever there was one – all but unwatchable, but Richard Rush in Stunt Man – surprise Oscar candidate for Best Actor and Best Director – has a few good things going for him, especially Barbara Hershey, talented, and way underrated actress.
